Piece Summary

Draki (Mothership): moves in 8 directions. Mobility +1 per crew; an embarked King also gives +1. With the King aboard, crew capacity is 1.
Skeid (Warship): queen directions. With 1/2/3/4 crew, mobility is 1/2/4/6.
Snekkja (Fast Ship): one square forward or forward-diagonal. With 2 crew, all 8 knight moves are added.
Skjaldbaka (Submarine): rook directions, up to 3 squares. Normal movement cannot jump. Special capture jumps over exactly one intervening sea piece.
Boat: one square forward, captures one square forward-diagonal, cannot retreat or disembark.
Crew: pawn-like move/capture. A two-square first move is available only from its initial or recruitment square. No en passant or promotion.
King: king movement. There is no check. Reaching the opponent’s final rank wins immediately.
Initial setup: Snekkja starts advanced at B5/F5 for White and B10/F10 for Black. The other main ships start on the coast (White rank 4 / Black rank 11).

Demo Controls

After one main action, you may take at most one logistics action. Recruit Crew is also a logistics action and shares the same limit with boarding, disembarking, transferring crew, and merging a boat. Once a logistics action is actually performed, the turn ends automatically.
If boarding or boat creation occurs as part of the main action, the logistics action for that turn is considered used.
Crew and King may disembark onto an adjacent empty land square from either coast.
Exactly one crew may be transferred between adjacent main ships, including diagonal adjacency. A boat may merge into a friendly main ship exactly one square directly ahead.
Land and sea pieces cannot directly capture each other.
Online multiplayer only: White and Black each begin with 10:00. Only the side to move loses time, and reaching 0:00 is an immediate loss on time. A player may resign at any time in online multiplayer; resignation is an immediate loss.
AI opponent: by default the AI controls Black. Mixed mode chooses a different strategic profile each game and adds some randomness among similarly rated moves.
